Terms of Service

Agreement to terms

By accessing or using the Velent mobile application ("App") and related services ("Services"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Services.

We may modify these Terms at any time. Your continued use of the Services after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the modified Terms.

Description of services

Velent is a habit tracking and productivity application that helps users:

  • Create and manage daily, morning, night, and weekly routines
  • Track task completion and build streaks
  • Earn experience points (XP) and level up
  • Unlock achievements and rewards
  • Chat with Vela, an AI assistant built on Google's Gemini model
  • Connect with friends and accountability partners, including AI partners, and participate in challenges
  • View leaderboards and track progress

Account registration

To use certain features of the App, you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
  • Maintain and promptly update your account information
  • Keep your password secure and confidential
  • Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account and use our Services.

Acceptable use

You agree to use the Services only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

  • Use the Services in any way that violates any applicable law or regulation
  • Impersonate or attempt to impersonate another person or entity
  • Engage in any conduct that restricts or inhibits anyone's use of the Services
  • Use the Services to transmit any harmful, offensive, or objectionable content
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Services
  • Use any automated means to access the Services without our permission
  • Interfere with the proper working of the Services
  • Manipulate or attempt to manipulate XP, levels, streaks, or achievements through fraudulent means

User content

You retain ownership of any content you create or upload to the App, including routine names, task descriptions, notes, messages, and images ("User Content"). By submitting User Content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, store, and display your User Content solely for the purpose of providing the Services.

You are responsible for your User Content and represent that you have all necessary rights to submit it. We reserve the right to remove any User Content that violates these Terms or is otherwise objectionable.

Content and conduct

Velent connects you with other people — friends, accountability partners, challenges, and chat games. The following is never allowed, anywhere in the App:

  • Harassment, bullying, hate speech, or targeting someone over who they are
  • Sexual content involving minors, in any form
  • Threats of violence or self-harm directed at another person
  • Spam, scams, or repeated unwanted messages
  • Impersonating another person, including a member of the Velent team

You can report a message, photo, challenge, profile or one of Vela's replies that breaks these rules, and you can block anyone who's bothering you. A report sends our team the specific thing you reported, so we can look into it. We review reports and can remove the content, and we can warn, temporarily time out, or permanently disable an account that breaks these rules, at our discretion.

Vela and any accountability partner offered as "AI" are computer-generated. They can be wrong, make things up, or misunderstand you. Nothing either of them says is medical, legal, financial or mental-health advice, and you shouldn't treat it as a substitute for a professional when it matters.

Challenge results and leaderboard rankings are determined by our systems, and we reserve the right to moderate social features and remove users who violate community standards.

Intellectual property

The Services and all content, features, and functionality (including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, images, audio clips, and software) are owned by Velent and are protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, and other intellectual property laws.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works of, publicly display, or otherwise use any content from the Services without our prior written consent.

Third-party services

The App integrates with third-party services to work the way it does: Google's Gemini model powers Vela, MET Norway provides weather data, GIPHY provides GIF search, and Apple and Google handle sign-in, push notifications, and purchases. We are not responsible for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party service. Your use of a third-party service is at your own risk.

Subscriptions (Velent Pro)

Velent's core features — routines, the valley, friends and partners, focus, and App lock — are free. Velent Pro is an optional, auto-renewing subscription, billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, depending on where you subscribed.

  • Payment is charged to your Apple or Google account at purchase, and renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends
  • You manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID or Google Play account settings, not in Velent — we can't cancel it for you
  • Price and billing period are shown before you buy, and may change on renewal with notice from the store
  • Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies, not by us
  • Velent Pro the team grants as a gift is not a paid subscription and has nothing to cancel

Deleting your Velent account does not cancel an active subscription — cancel it with Apple or Google first.

Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that:

  • The Services will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
  • The results obtained from using the Services, including anything Vela or an AI partner says, will be accurate or reliable
  • Any errors in the Services will be corrected

Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, VELENT SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM:

  • Your use or inability to use the Services
  • Any unauthorized access to or alteration of your data
  • Any content or conduct of any third party on the Services, including another user or an AI partner
  • Any loss of streaks, XP, achievements, or other in-app progress

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Velent, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your use of the Services or violation of these Terms.

Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Services at any time, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms or the Content and conduct rules above.

You may delete your account at any time through the App settings or by contacting us — see how to delete your account. Upon termination, your right to use the Services will immediately cease.

Governing law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Velent operates, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Dispute resolution

Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with applicable arbitration rules.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
